Our Policy
Marmara Law Association was founded on November 27, 2014 by nine members of the Marmara Law Community, under the Governorship of Istanbul. The board members of Marmara Law Club, which is a student club that has been operating under the Marmara University Faculty of Law since 2007, has drawn the main lines of the Association and determined its principles as a result of its intensive studies on the traditions and accumulation of the Club and the Faculty.
Modern university union models and wide-ranging non-governmental organizations in many countries, particularly in the UK, Scotland, Germany, Austria and Czechia, were examined during the establishment phase of the Association. Also with considering the traditions of Turkish Nation and laws of Turkish Republic, an unique non-governmental organization model has been revealed.
The main goal of the Marmara Law Association is to establish an active communication and development line between the members, alumnus and students of the Marmara University Law Faculty. The above mentioned goal and the vision that comes with it, has been stated as the motto “Haydarpasa Culture”.
The principles; Togetherness, development and dignity are constituting the main principles of association and all the objectives and activities of our association are fictionalizing around these principles.
Marmara Law Association is a strong and independent ngo that being active with their hundreds of members and volunteers at three provinces.
Founders
The Marmara Law Association was founded by Doğan Çağdaş Aksakal, Orhan Özmutlu, Alper Özgür Kök, Yağız Ersöz, Özge Şentürk, Murat Uğur, Y. Hazal Aydoğan, Ecenur Barutçu and Ülkü Çağla Erdi in 2014.
Management Style
Board of Directors, Board of Supervisors and Board of Visitors are determined biennially by the members of the association with secret ballot and open counting principles during the General Assembly. Executive organs of the association, especially Board of Directors , has no affiliation with any kind of social-political establishment, non-governmental organization, governmental institution or consultancy.
Association Member Relations
Assosaciation members, participate in all the activities of the association as much as they wish; they take part in the negotiation, design and implementation states of the activities.In all these processes and stages, the members are coordinated by the board of the association.As of the end of 2019, Marmara Law Association has more than 700 members and more than 100 association volunteers who express the members who actively organize their activities.
Activities
Activities in the fields such as; academical, professional, cultural, arts and social responsibility has been organized and brought together with the Law Community by Marmara Law Association since their founding. The activities are generally limited by couple of days and be organized for limited time. Marmara Law Association has welcomed thousands of people since 2014 with their -almost- 350 events.
Projects
Unlike its events, association projects are activities that are realized with long-term and mostly abstract organizations. The categorical diversity of the projects are greater, and they are aimed at continuous development. As they are qualified for the members of the Association, projects for all jurists are often created and implemented by the association.
Social Responsibility
Although the Marmara Law Association operates in line with its goals and vision specific to the benefit of the Marmara Law Community, it does not neglect social responsibility and social awareness. Moreover, the first activity of the Association following its establishment was to establish a computer class in a primary school in Soma district of Manisa, shattered by a mine disaster in the relevant period. Members of the Association regularly organize many social responsibility activities.

As the Board of Directors, we believe that you may make great contributions both yourselves and our movement by following the studies of Marmara Law Association, participating them and being involved in the preparation stages of these studies.
Our Association has always been the centre of visionary and original studies which aimed the benefit of law society and its tendencies, especially members of Marmara University Faculty of Law, its alumnus and students, and will continue to be so.
Marmara Law Association is a democratic and independent non-governmental organisation where the works are produced with the modern and innovative approach and its studies have strong substructure and promoted freedom.
